late summer is always lovely in helsinki. there is something special in the air, a feeling of nostalgia and something new, when everything slowly turns towards autumn and winter.

a special day

Today was my birthday. We ate waffles and celebrated.
I got love letters from my loved ones and a present I've been dreaming about.

Last days of summer

It is time to say goodbye - the summer is almost gone.
A summer which I did not notice at all...
Saturday was perhaps the last day of summer, now it's freezing cold already.
We visited Korkeasaari zoo, there were also nice urban farming experiments.

small treasures, great pleasures

Cacharel floral/Liberty? pattern shirt - made in Italy - from the recycling center of Lönnrotinkatu (0,50€).
 During the same visit, Lene Sand skirt, Comme des Garcons for H&M wool shirt and two t-shirts found a new home as well. The total cost of all was 2,90 euros.

railways nostalgia

In the beginning of summer hols, we went to see old trains and the history of Finnish railways.
It was an interesting visit for both old and young ones.

After the tour we had ice cream and coffee in a lovely small cafeteria.

bugs and butterflies

a spontaneously captured moment from the last summer. a couple of spiders in the front are building their new home into summer cottage's terrace.

how beautiful are the butterflies. and lovely is also a japanese brand named after the Finnish word, mina perhonen.("me butterfly".)

my urban jungle

every summer, i love all this more and more.
